Art Adventures—Dance

Last art adventure in the series—dance!

Our days of wearing tutus everywhere—playgrounds, grocery stores and airplanes—has now been replaced with soccer shorts but I'm sure there are other kiddos just beginning this adventure so here's a list to get you started. And since it's been awhile for us, please holler if you have something to add.

  • Seattle Civic Dance Theater
No events currently scheduled but their annual winter performance of The Magical Doll Maker Ballet was a must-see in our house for years when our daughter wore tutus everywhere. They are the non-profit piece of Dance! West Seattle offering older kiddos and adults opportunities to perform.

  • Dance! West Seattle (Classes)
    9131 California Ave SW
Variety of ballet classes, from beginner to advance, for all ages. In addition, their non-profit, Seattle Civic Dance Theater, offers older children and adult opportunities to perform, including two large-scale performances a year.
  • Mode Music and Performing Arts (Classes, Camps)
Broadway Dance Party class and camp for Grades K-2 and 3-5.
  • Currently offering a handful of classes at Delridge and High Point Community Centers.
  • VivaArts (Classes, Camps)
    4421 Fauntleroy Way SW
Kid and Teen/Adult Capoeira classes plus summer camps.
  • West Seattle Performing Arts (Classes)
